about the band
The six-piece band Andy Dickens Band plays accessible
and enjoyable jazz in a variety of popular styles that range from
New Orleans through Swing and JumpJive to Bop, Latin and Funk.
Described by Southampton Jazz Society as The Whos
Who of Jazz in The South of England the band features several
names whose jazz reputations are both national and international.
In addition to Andy Dickens on trumpet and vocals,
the band includes saxophonist and clarinettist Pete
Effamy, and the rhythm section of Andy
Trim on drums, bassist Brett
Nevill, and guitarist John
Coverdale is completed by the exciting piano playing of Andy
Daniels. For concerts, recordings and often by specific request
from clients, trombonist and arranger Adrian
Fry joins the frontline.
