Equally
at home in a New Orleans setting or in the company of bop, mainstream
and modern players, Andy's individual style echoes Roy Eldridge,
Lips Page and Clark Terry.
Andy
has toured and performed with Americans Slim Gaillard, Franz Jackson
(Duke Ellington), Joe Darensbourg (clarinet with Louis Armstrong
All Stars), New Orleans Gospel singer Pearly Tyler and UK stars
Peter King, Clark Tracey, Annie Ross, Bruce Turner, Dick Morrisey,
Humphrey Littleton and John Barnes.
Festival
appearances include Ascona, Travermunde, Breda, Dresden, Mannheim,
the UK Swanage Jazz Festival in 2003 (with Clark Tracey); and an
appearance as a guest soloist at the International Jazz Festival
at Gronau, Germany, in the company of top American and European
artists. He has also performed frequently on the Cunard flagships

Andy
Dickens is well known as a teacher of jazz, running courses in improvisation
